frequently asked questions

What is Free and Easy for Dogs?

Free and Easy is a nutritional supplement for dogs designed to provide complete nutritional support for joints, cartilage, and ligaments combined with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents. No fillers are used. This is a concentrated product.  The intention in creating this product: it must be a holistic formulation; it must cause no harm; it must remove toxins and free radicals and most important, it must work effectively to improve your dog's health.

Who makes Free and Easy for Dogs?

Dynamite Marketing makes and distributes Free & Easy.  They have been in business for since 1973 and their headquarters are located in Meridian, Idaho.

What are the amounts of each ingredient in Free and Easy?

The developers do not list the amounts due to proprietary reasons except for glucosamine and chondroitin. The amount of chondroitin is 170mg per gram. The amount of glucosamine is 11 mg per gram. One thing to keep in mind is that all ingredients are pure with no fillers, and they are designed to work synergistically to produce effective results. Synergy is the action of 2 or more agents (e.g., drugs) working together to produce an effect greater than the combined effect of the same agents used separately. This quality has been the staple of Dynamite Marketing for over 30 years.

Is the Glucosamine in Free and Easy, Glucosamine Sulphate or Glucosamine Hydrochloride (HCL)?

Free and Easy for Dogs uses neither. The sulfate or HCL is simply a carrier molecule for the actual glucosamine. One study showed the actual glucosamine in glucosamine sulphate to be 63% and for HCL it was 83%.  Free and Easy is extracted using water resulting in a more pure form of glucosamine, which is one of the reasons why it is so effective. Also, a potential problem of glucosamine sulphate is that some dogs and humans are allergic to the sulpha.

What is Glucosamine anyways?

Glucosamine, a substance naturally produced in the body, is made up of an amine and a sugar. It's the building block for several important substances found in the joints of the body, including chondroitin and synovial fluid, the substance that lubricates joints.   There are no food sources of glucosamine.  Supplements are derived from chitin, the hard outer shells of shrimp, lobster, and crabs.

Is there any circumstances where I shouldn't give the Free and Easy to my pet?

If your pet is pregnant or lactating, temporarily discontinue usage or use only on the advice of your vet. If your pet is on other prescribed medications from your vet, it is always prudent to inform the vet if you intend to use the product for your pet.

In very rare cases, your dog may develop diarrhea.  Stop giving the supplement until the dog has regular bowel movements, then slowly introduce the dog to the supplement.  You can do this by cutting the dosage to 1/4 strength and then slowly increase it to regular strength over a 2 week period.  Sometimes, the dog's body may need time to adjust to the supplement.  If your concerned about diarrhea, order the 15 gram sample to determine if the product is compatible.

When can I start giving Free and Easy to my puppy?

At 3 months up to the 1st year, give you pup one half the maintenance dosage.  After the first year, you can start giving the full maintenance dosage for your dog.

Is Free and Easy available in liquid or powdered form and what is the best way to give it to your dog?

Free and Easy comes in powdered form. The best way is to mix it with your dog food by adding a couple of teaspoons of water along with some dry dog food and some canned dog food. If you only feed your dog dry dog food, then add slightly more water to the mixture.

Should I order it if my dog is a finicky eater?

You can order the 15 gram sample to determine if your dog will eat their food with the Free & Easy mixed in.  Because the quantity is small, its purpose is not to see improvement but only to see if it is compatible with your dog. The cost is $5.00 plus shipping and is non refundable.  Call us toll free to inquire at 1-877-434-1984.

What if my dog won't eat their food after adding the Free & Easy

You can try cutting down on the dosage to 1/4 the original dosage and see if they will eat it. Then slowly increase it to recommended dosage. Sometimes, you have to be creative. You can try something like IAM's Gravy to mix with it. Or a great product which is very beneficial to your dog is Grizzly Salmon Oil, which has a great taste and contains the helpful Omega 3 & Omega 6 fatty acids.  99% of the dogs will have no issue with the Free & Easy supplement but once in a great while, the finicky dog will present a challenge.  We have had great success with the Grizzly Salmon Oil.  Remember, we guarantee the product to work, we can't guarantee it if your dog won't eat it
